Cabinet rejects proposal to tax expats’ remittances
The Kuwait cabinet rejects a proposal to impose fees on expatriates’ remittances.
“The cabinet’s economic affairs committee argues that imposing fees on expats’ remittances would harm the economy, force specialized manpower out of Kuwait and scare away foreign investments,” local media reported.
Earlier the proposal suggested to impose tax on the money expatriates are transferring to their home country.
